What topographical map do we use?

Is there information about ski tours/hikes around the area?
Our guest book is full of descriptions of great hikes taken by our guests and the walls of the lodge have numerous maps for you to acquaint yourselves with the area.

Lodge

Do we need to bring bedding? Do we have to bring bed linen?
Amiskwi Lodge has foam beds and pillows…the guests bring their own sleeping bag and pillow case.

What do we do with the garbage?
Double bag your garbage and box it up to fly it out on the helicopter.

What do we need to bring in the way of household supplies like cleaning stuff, tea towels, toilet paper, etc?

Amiskwi provides:

  • Dishwashing fluid
  • Dish towels
  • Dish washing bleach
  • An oven
  • A grill in the oven
  • Baking pyrex
  • Baking dishes
  • Juice jugs
  • Coffee percolator


Do you supply batteries for your satellite radio?
We don’t have a satellite radio, but we do have a satellite phone that runs on solar power.

What about first aid kits?
A large first aid kit is located in the drying room on the wall. We provide a first aid evacuation toboggan. This is located in the rescue cache that is above the sauna and accessed from the back.

What about Snow boots for general use and/or Snow shoes for general use?
No we don’t supply snow boots or snow shoes.

Is there an electrical outlet?
We have an electrical outlet located in the closet under the stairs. Our electricity comes from our solar panels.

Is there tap water?
No. Guests get their water from the stream and store it in the buckets provided in the lodge.

Preparation

Does everyone in the group need to sign a waiver?
Yes. Parents need to sign for their children. Amiskwi Lodge also requests an emergency contact name and phone for each guest.

Do you cater and guide?
We can supply a list of caterers and guides if needed.

Can I cancel?
We recommend that all guests get cancellation insurance. You can cancel 6 weeks before you are to go into Amiskwi but the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel after the six weeks the whole amount is kept by Amiskwi.

In the summer do I have to book the whole lodge?
No. Amiskwi will put smaller groups together up to 10 people. If you want the entire lodge to yourselves you have to have 10 or more in your group or pay the equivalent.

How do I pay and who do I pay?
Amiskwi is a small operation and does not accept credit cards. We honor personal cheques and request that all payments are in Canadian funds.

Where is the helicopter pad?
We use Alpine Helicopters and their hanger is located in Golden at the airport. Follow the airplane signs through the town of Golden and over the bridge…Alpine’s hanger is at the far end of the air strip.

Where is OB camp?
OB camp is located on the Blaeberry River Road and driving directions are on our web site.

What is the price to rent the entire lodge?
10 or more adults booking into the lodge in one group constitutes an exclusive booking and they get the entire lodge for their stay.

Are there any discounts for children under 11 or seniors?
Children under 11 when accompanied by their parents receive a discount (See Prices/Policy)

Do you have private cabins?
No

Can we reserve a room?
No
